A FloorPlanner floor plan next to the same house as a 3D SketchUp model with walls, openings and floor slabs

Why FloorPlannerToSketchUp?

  • Your drawing, intact: We build from your own FloorPlanner data, so lengths and thicknesses match what you drew.
  • Preview before you pay: See the floors and rooms we found before you pay. If something is missing, you know up front.
  • Careful with your file: Your project is used only for the conversion. The model stays available for re-delivery for 30 days, then we delete it.

How it works

Same plan. Now a model.

Left is your project in FloorPlanner. Right is the same plan in SketchUp: walls with thickness, openings cut in, one group per floor.

Left the floor plan in FloorPlanner, right the same house as a 3D model in SketchUp with walls, openings and floor slabs.
Illustration. The model contains the building shell. Furniture and finishes stay in FloorPlanner.

Questions

Why not redraw the plan in SketchUp?

You can. For a full house it often takes a few hours. We build the walls, openings and floors from the plan you already made, so you start modelling straight away.

Which SketchUp versions open the file?

The .dae (COLLADA) file opens in SketchUp Go, Pro and Studio, on the web and on desktop. It does not open in SketchUp Free or in SketchUp for iPad.

What comes across, and what does not?

Walls, door and window openings, floor slabs and room names, in real units. Furniture, materials and finishes from FloorPlanner are not carried over.

My project is private. What now?

Publish it in FloorPlanner and paste the link, or export the project as .fml and upload the file here. The free preview shows what we found before you pay.

How do I receive the model?

By email, within 5 minutes of payment. Check your spam folder too. We keep the file for 30 days, so we can send it again: email support@floorplannertosketchup.com.

Who can see my project?

Only our conversion service reads it. We do not publish, share or reuse your plan, and we delete uploaded files and models after 30 days.
